Colleges with strong learning support services (for LD students)
Over two million current undergraduate students in the United States are diagnosed with a disability, roughly 11% of the total college-going population. While students with disabilities matriculate into postsecondary institutions at similar rates to their non-disable peers, only 34% finish their bachelor’s degree within eight years. With this is in mind, it is of the utmost importance that students with special needs select a college that has a proven track record of helping individuals with disabilities experience success. The following schools have demonstrated a consistent commitment to meeting the social, emotional, and academic needs of students, primarily by providing an extensive array of services and staff exclusively devoted to helping LD students succeed in a postsecondary environment.
