The CEO of College Transitions spoke with the Tulane Hullabaloo this past week about the methods that many universities (including Tulane) utilize in order to increase the number of applications they receive each year. Doing so ultimately lowers a school’s acceptance, rate thus enhancing it’s perceived selectivity and level of prestige. As Andrew said, “We have students that we work with every year — dozens of students — who have no chance of getting into Tulane who will receive a mailing from Tulane.”
