Best Colleges for Applied Mathematics
Mastering the world of theoretical mathematics is one thing, but those studying Applied Mathematics are looking to translate their knowledge into solving real-world problems. Popular careers for Applied Mathematics majors include: statistician, actuary, auditor, financial analyst, and software engineer. At many universities, core courses within the major includes work in the disciplines of computer science, statistics, data science, engineering, as well as—of course—advanced math. Many of the schools on our Best Colleges for Applied Mathematics list are in the Ivy League or the UC system. However, East Coast public institutions such as Pitt and SUNY Stony Brook also cracked the list.
