Mastering the world of theoretical mathematics is one thing, but those studying Applied Mathematics are looking to translate their knowledge into solving real-world problems. Popular careers for Applied Mathematics majors include: statistician, actuary, auditor, financial analyst, and software engineer. At many universities, core courses within the major includes work in the disciplines of computer science, statistics, data science, engineering, as well as—of course—advanced math.
