Best Colleges for Public Health
The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly brought the importance of the public health to the forefront of the American consciousness. As such, there is an increased interest in public health careers in the areas of chronic diseases, infectious diseases, epidemiology, and environmental health. Many bachelor recipients will go on to graduate or professional schools (the MPH is a popular choice), while others begin working after graduation as research assistants, health communication specialists, or as program assistants at a public health organization. As College Transitions’ list of the Best Colleges for Public Health reveals, many of the top programs in this area can be found as part of large research universities. These institutions are often attached to hospital systems which can pave the way to hands-on opportunities for undergrads in the form of internships and practicums.
