Transfer Credit Requirements

Before launching into the transfer admissions process, it is essential that students gain a full understanding of the credit requirements at their prospective colleges. After all, many schools require or recommend a minimum number of credits in order to qualify as a transfer applicant and all schools cap the number of credits that they will accept from two-year and four-year colleges. To simplify this quest, we have provided a list of transfer credit requirements at 350+ of the nation's most competitive institutions. Information includes: the minimum GPA to be considered for admission; minimum number of credits needed to transfer; and maximum number of credits accepted by the institution.

*Data collected from institution websites and Common Data Set (CDS) forms.

Table updated July 2020.
