For entry in the fall of 2023, 2,334 students applied for transfer admission and 392 were successful. This means that the Emory transfer acceptance rate is 16.7%. Broken down by gender, the acceptance rates are as follows:

Earned at least 28 college credits.
Earned near-perfect grades in their first year at a community college or 4-year university.
Pursued a broad curriculum.
Have reviewed the recommendations and prerequisites for their program of choice. For example, the Goizueta Business School prefers students complete the majority of their business coursework at Emory, so students with a number of business classes from another institution are not good transfer candidates. That said, there are prerequisite courses that should be completed prior to applying. Additionally, those interested in the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing should view the program’s requirements, which include 60 semester credit hours of coursework in the physical sciences, math, social sciences, and electives.

According to the university: “Applicants should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all college work, and most students admitted have a GPA of 3.5 or better.”
